Itinerary

Day 1 - Flight to Jimma. Debut Visiting Jimma

In the morning, according to your schedule, flight to Jimma (ET231 ADDJIM 08:25-09:30). Up on your arrival at Jimma airport, welcomed by your driver and guide and transfer and check-in to your hotel. In the afternoon, debut your tour in the historic city Jimma by discovering Quba Abba Arabu, situated to northern part the city, holds the grave of Saint Abba Arabu and his followers. Over 20,000 Muslim pilgrims gathered annually from different part of the world to attend the festivity Mawlid of Prophet Mohamed. Then, descend and discover the impressive palace of Abba Jifar II, stands with colorful architectural beauty,  constructed by the cost of 400 kg of Gold and 65,000 Maria Theresa Dollars during the end of 1860’s. The palace In the compound, four buildings are found namely the public mosque, the mosque of Abba Jifar, residential palace of Aba Jifar, residential palace of Aba Jobir and Aba Dula (the grandsons of Aba Jifar). Furthermore, explore the nearby thrilling mosque of Masgiida Afurtema, one of the biggest mosque from the area, named after the 40 pilgrims who used to perform prayers, built during the reign of Aba Jifar II. This historical mosque was founded in 1858 by sixth king, Aba Boka Aba Magal. Then, walk to Graveyards of The Royal family explore the graveyards of various royal families including the tomb of Abba Jifar the II. Moreover, visit the historical graveyard, Quba of Shiek AbdulHakim located near to the palaces of king Abba Jifar II , known by the place of Saffara Civet cat. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 2 - Visit Jimma Museum, Cinema Roma and Hiking to Lake Boye & Lake Dungee

In the morning, visit the finest Jumma Museum, features the majority of King Abba Jifar's historical artifacts as well as items representing the local Oromo people's culture, king's personal furniture, which includes armchairs, utensils, sacred manuscripts, and beds from Abba Jifar. Then visit Cinema Roma, built by Italian around 1938, for showing their moves for their Nation, located at the center of the town in front of Gojeb Hotel (Bar Prichipe). Lunch will be at Nigus Palace Restaurant. In the afternoon, drive around 6km to the southern part of the city and hike around Lake Boye and Lake Dungee, where plenty of bird species, fishes and hippos are observed. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 6 - Drive to Mizan - Visit Wush-Wush Tea Plantation and Bebeka Coffee Estate

In the morning, drive to Mizan. En-route, explore the Wush-Wush Tea Plantation. At Wush-Wush tea plantation we grow a larger leaf variety, giving our teas a richer and smoother taste, with 5,448 tons of annual production of black tea. The region is blessed with ample rainfall, distributed over nine to ten months in the year; this eliminates the risk of moisture stress. The land layout ensures sufficient drainage, the mild temperature and high altitude in conjunction with the red brown, well drained and fertile soil, ensures premium high quality tea and productivity. Then proceed to and explore the Bebeka Coffee Estate. Bebeka Coffee Estate is uniquely situated in the remnant tropical rainforest of the country, which is known to be part of the area identified as the original home of Arabica Coffee. Of the total land area of 10,030 hectares under Bebeka, more than half (over 5,253 hectare), is covered with modern Arabica Coffee plantation. Blessed with ideal precipitation, as well as the luring fertility of the land and its rich agro-ecology, all the coffee trees are grown under shade. Bebeka is enriched with over 26 varieties of Arabica coffee. Among many other coffees types, it produces the rare and antique variety, the world famous and indigenous Geisha. At Bebeka Coffee Estate, you will also experience the process of the coffee harvesting, processing, milling, drying and packing and storing or exporting. Picnic lunch will be served. After visit, proceed to Mizan. Overnight in hotel/guest house

Day 7 - Drive to Tepi - Visit Tepi Coffee Plantation, Villages of Bench and Maji

On this day, drive to Tepi and visit the Tepi Coffee Plantation. The plantation is the second largest coffee plantation in the country, and currently produces more than 6,000 tonnes of coffee annually. Tepi Coffee Plantation has won numerous awards in recognition of its environmental concerns and commitment to sustainable coffee production. After lunch, drive further to Tepi town. On the way visit Bench Maji Forest Coffee Union Pulp. Furthermore, explore the villages of Bench and Maji peoples. Overnight in hotel/guest house

Day 8 - Drive to Gore - Visit Gemadro Coffee Estate

After breakfast, drive to the nearby coffee plantation, Gemadro Coffee Estate, located in Sheka Zone, Gecha Wereda, Yoki-Chichi-Gemardro Kebele. The estate derives its name from the Gemadro river which runs through it. The coffee trees on the Gemadro Estate are shade-grown Arabica Typia, the ultimate Ethiopian Arabica species. The estate is 2295 ha in extent, of which 1010 ha are under coffee and the rest is left as natural vegetation supporting the local ecosystem. The plantation is "organic in conversion" and has adopted conservation-based organic farming methods. The plantation has its own wet processing station with pulping set, huller and mechanical dryers, ensuring prime quality.  The Gemadro Estate coffee is produced by the most modern organic methods in the original indigenous coffee region - a formula that is bound to produce a unique, exemplary coffee. In the afternoon, drive approximately 150 km to to the north to the historic town of Gore. Overnight in hotel or guest house.

Day 9 - Visit the British Consulate, Old Town of Gore, and Gumaro Tea Plantation

After breakfast, visit the British Consulate, the palace of and explore and walk through the historic town of Gore, once a bustling commerce and political center connecting Southwest Ethiopia and the Sudanese hinterlands to the highlands in the east becoming one of the most important cities of the time. Gore served as the capital of Illubabor province, until 1978. Gore has also served as the office of the British Council in the 1905. In the afternoon, drive 10 km to the west from the Gore town and explore Gumaro Tea Plantation, lies in the fertile land of Illubabor. Gumaro Tea plantation is the first tea farm in Ethiopia introduced by Lebanon and England consulate delegates. It organically grows Gumaro black tea produces strong flavor and rich in nutrients and high antioxidants. It is carefully sun-dried and packed for consumption. Overnight in hotel or guest house.

Day 10 - Drive to Metu, Visit Ilke Waterfall, Yayu Coffee Plantation

On this day, discover the enchanting Yayu Coffee Biosphere Reserve. The Yayu coffee forest biosphere reserve is situated in the Illubabor Zone. The area is drained by small rivers like Geba, Dogi, Saki and Sese, which discharge into the Baro River which is one of the major tributaries of the river Nile.  The most important landscapes are forest, agricultural land, wetland, and grazing land. The biosphere reserve includes Eastern Afro-montane biodiversity hotspot and important bird areas and one of the last remaining montane rainforest fragments with wild Coffea arabica populations in the world. The area is also of cultural and historical significance since it possesses many archaeological sites, ritual sites, caves and waterfalls. The core areas and buffer zone are considered as one of the Regional  Forest Conservation Area and Forest Coffee conservation Site. In the morning, drive approximately 32 km northward taking the bumpy road of Supe town. After crossing Geba River, short hiking to the picturesque Ilke Waterfall, a hidden gem surrounded by lush greenery. Then drive further to and explore the Yayu Coffee Plantation and Harvesting Center. Then, drive back to Metu. Overnight hotel or guest house.

Day 11 - Visit Kobor Wetland and Sor Waterfall

In the morning, drive to 12 km south of Metu, passing through the village of Becho. Before reaching Sor, hike around Kobor Wetland, and observe plenty of bird species such as greater egret, little egret, giant kingfisher , Egyptian Goose, African sacred Ibis, woodland kingfisher, wooly-naked stork, yellow-billed stork, hamerkop, common bulbul, black crowned-crane, fork-tailed drongo, yellow-billed duck and more. Then, proceed to the majestic Sor Waterfall, one of the most beautiful falls in Ethiopia. Sor River suddenly drops 20m over the edge of a cataract into a wide amphitheatre lined with ferns. Hike around the fall and discover hidden scenic wonders. Immerse the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and exploration, encapsulating the essence of Sor's allure. After visit, drive back to Metu. Overnight in Hotel or guest house.

Day 12 - Drive to Jimma, Visit Dangawaj Waterfall

After breakfast, drive back to Jimma. En-route, visit the a beautiful Dangawaj Waterfall with a natural cave and a natural bridge, surrounded by dense natural forest and coffee plantations. Dangawaj waterfall, located 3km from the small town of Gachi Wereda in Buno Bedele Zone. It is a home for an array of captivating wild animals and diverse bird species.Afternoon, keep drive to Jimma. Overnight in Hotel ot guest house.

Day 13 - Flight Back to Addis Ababa - Departure

In the morning, according to your schedule, flight back to Addis Ababa (ET230 JIM-ADD 10:35 am-11:35 am).  Late afternoon, leisure time, coffee testing in local cafeterias. In the evening, farewell traditional dinner in one of the best restaurants in Addis followed by folkloric dance of different Ethiopian nations. Then transfer to your destination. End of the trip.
